Wei Xu (born in 1982, China) is a researcher in the field of sustainable forest product utilization at the Institute of Forest Utilization and Work Science of the Albert-Ludwigs Universität Freiburg. She graduated from Beijing Forestry University with a master degree in Forest Enterprise Management in 2006. Granted by the scholarship ''Studies and Research in Sustainability'' by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), she participated in the international master program of ''Forest Ecology and Management'' at the University of Freiburg between 2006 and 2008. During her master study, she carried out a meaningful internship at the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) in Bangkok in 2007.
