Details zum Produkt: Mozart/Busoni: Duettino concertante

Ferruccio Busoni's Duettino concertante for two pianos, four hands, is based on Mozart's Finale of Concerto No. 19 in F Major, K. 459, for piano and orchestra. Edited by the dynamic piano duo team of Anderson & Roe, this work is a brilliant example of Busoni's prowess as a transcriber as it retains the lightness and clarity of Mozart's textures while utilizing the resources of the modern piano. Metronome marks are editorial and ornaments are realized in footnotes. Fingerings, dynamics, and articulation have been supplemented by the editors.

Dancing Korea: New Waves of Choreographers and Dance Companies
Dancing Korea: New Waves of Choreographers and Dance Companies
Contemporary Korean Arts Series 5 Contemporary Korean Dancers and Dance Companies An Overview of Past and Present Koreans have always enjoyed and appreciated dance. In the past, Korean dance was intimately rooted in people’s everyday lives, and the ideas that governed everyday life in turn greatly impacted the form and content of dance. However, with the turn of the modern era, Korea began to adopt Western culture, and dance was no exception. Korean dance moved from its traditional stage of outdoor gardens and courtyards to indoor heaters and changed to Western-style staged dances, which significantly distorted its nature and mode of existence. Dancing Korea: New Waves of Choreographers and Dance Companies provides an overview of such history and current status of contemporary Korean dance along with major contemporary dancers and dance companies. In addition to introducing dancers who are still actively performing, the book explains the cultural milieu of dance in Korea, the philosophy of traditional Korean dance, and the history and modernization of dance in order to illuminate how Korean dance has come to be what it is today. Based on personal interviews and experience in the dance scene, the author concentrates on the catalysts that led to explorations and places each of the artists in context. At the end of this book, directories to the artists’ contacts and dance festivals are included for readers to check performance schedule and further information.

Follower-Centric Approaches to Leadership
Follower-Centric Approaches to Leadership
New research on followers as fundamental participants in the development, impact, and maintenance of leadership processes The vast majority of studies of leadership are cross-sectional comparisons of leadership styles and followers' perceptions of leaders' styles; however, within the last two decades scholars have begun to study the other side of the proverbial coin, focusing on followers' styles and the processes of followership. The studies in this volume examine what it means to "reverse the lens" in leadership research by studying how followers perceive and enact their own roles in the co-production of leadership. The contributions highlight new research on followers' needs, motivations, and attributions as critical aspects of the leadership relationship. They present new theories and perspectives on the study of leadership and followership as well as potential directions for further research. The followercentric approach to leadership covers questions such as: . How do followers perceive followership, i.e., construct and enact their roles in relation to leaders? . What does it mean to be labelled a follower? . How do individual characteristics and qualities of followers influence the development of leaders? . What roles do followers' needs, values, wants, and preferences play in their tolerance or affinity for certain leadership styles? . What types of leadership help in developing effective followership and what types of followership help in developing effective leadership?

Self-Control and Self-Regulation in Social Contexts
Self-Control and Self-Regulation in Social Contexts
Self-regulation processes operate on an intrapersonal level during goal-striving. They comprise cognition and behavior individuals perform intentionally and consciously (self-control) as well as automatic, highly efficient, and nonintentional mechanisms (self-regulation). Over the years, a sophisticated scientific tool box full of theories and models facilitating our understanding of the motivational dynamics in humans has been developed that has recently also advanced our understanding of social phenomena by linking the intrapersonal motivational processes to characteristics of the social context and its influences on behavior. Considering both, the intrapersonal processes and the social context of motivation, facilitates both - (a) the understanding of the sources and the influence of motivation as well as (b) the understanding of social phenomena. This compendium presents exemplary studies of what this mutually beneficial relation can look like. It provides new insights on how information concerning the social context affects motivation and behavior, how self-regulatory mechanisms can explain variance in applied settings, how self-regulation functions in the context of stereotype control, particularly when stereotypes are activated by the context, how implementation intentions (i.e., if-then plans individuals consciously commit themselves to) are suitable to prevent the impact of stereotypes on performance, and how automatic self-regulation functions and adapts in the search for a romantic partner. Also included is a discussion of automatic self-regulation, a core issue of self-regulation research, that provides new food for thought about and suggestions for further research on self-regulation and self-control in social contexts.
Time Series Analysis in Meteorology and Climatology Duchon, C: Time Series Analysis in Meteorology
Time Series Analysis in Meteorology and Climatology Duchon, C: Time Series Analysis in Meteorology
Time Series Analysis in Meteorology and Climatology provides an accessible overview of this notoriously difficult subject. Clearly structured throughout, the authors develop sufficient theoretical foundation to understand the basis for applying various analytical methods to a time series and show clearly how to interpret the results. Taking a unique approach to the subject, the authors use a combination of theory and application to real data sets to enhance student understanding throughout the book. This book is written for those students that have a data set in the form of a time series and are confronted with the problem of how to analyse this data. Each chapter covers the various methods that can be used to carry out this analysis with coverage of the necessary theory and its application. In the theoretical section topics covered include; the mathematical origin of spectrum windows, leakage of variance and understanding spectrum windows. The applications section includes real data sets for students to analyse. Scalar variables are used for ease of understanding for example air temperatures, wind speed and precipitation. Students are encouraged to write their own computer programmes and data sets are provided to enable them to recognize quickly whether their programme is working correctly- one data set is provided with artificial data and the other with real data where the students are required to physically interpret the results of their periodgram analysis. Based on the acclaimed and long standing course at the University of Oklahoma, the book is distinct in its approach to the subject matter in that it is written specifically for readers in meteorology and climatology and uses a mix of theory and application to real data sets.
