Dr. Reiner Müller, Jahrgang 1954, hat Geologie studiert und wurde anschließend mit einer Arbeit über Vulkanismus an der Universität Mainz promoviert. Danach hat er sich für mehrere Jahre zu Forschungszwecken in Chile aufgehalten (Vulkanismus der Anden und Lagerstättenbildung). Seit 1988 ist er wissenschaftlicher Angestellter an der Technischen Universität Clausthal. Seine Arbeitsgebiete sind Harzgeologie, Geostatistik, Bruchtektonik in Mitteleuropa und Vulkanologie. Dr. Hans-Joachim Franzke, Jahrgang 1940, hat Geologie an der Universität Halle-Wittenberg studiert. Anschließend arbeitete er 18 Jahre lang als Geologe im Bergbau (Ostharz, Thüringer Wald). Er wurde extern an der Universität Halle mit einer Arbeit zur Tektonik von hydrothermalen Gängen promoviert. Bis 1992 war er dann im GeoForschungsZentrum Potsdam beschäftigt, ehe er als wissenschaftlicher Angestellter an die Technische Universität Clausthal wechselte. Seit 2005 ist er im aktiven Ruhestand. Seine Arbeitsgebiete sind Bruchtektonik, Harzgeologie und Fernerkundung.
